Female yaks give birth to calves approximately once every two years or twice every three years. Seems rare, right?

Why are yaks crucial for Tibetan culture?

Yaks are vital in Tibetan culture, providing transportation, milk for yoghurt and butter and hair for shelter. In fact, it’s fair to say that the yaks look after the locals as much as the locals look after them!
